Penny Kronengold is a figurative artist whose work comes out of abstraction. Her paintings of carousels, horses, swimmers, trees, and other evocative subjects often begin as sketches done rapidly on-site. She was born in NYC and continues to live and work there. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The New Republic, The New Yorker, The New York Sun, and Artcritical.com. Until September 2012 she was represented by the First Street Gallery.
